1 in 4 children faces hunger here in Cambodia and many suffer from chronic malnutrition that stunts growth. The biggest reason kids are hungry, is poverty. Poverty often means children not only don’t have enough to eat, they don’t have access to clean water, healthcare and education.
Our Happy Meals Program shows evidence that eating a nutritious meal:
- has important health and educational benefits for children
- can improve their diet and increase their concentration during lessons
- can potentially decrease health inequalities
Working together is the only way to end hunger. Children need nutritious food that helps them grow healthy and strong. At Adore Cambodia we’ve built local partnerships to pursue new and better approaches, accelerate the success of our programs, and get food and resources to those who need them most.
How It Works
Our staff and volunteers have been serving meals to hungry children once each month since 2013. We purchase and prepare the food at our community kitchen and serve through our Happy Meals program at local primary schools and poor communities in rural Siem Reap. The nutritious meal consists of rice, soup, vegetables, meat, fried noodles and fruits. In providing healthy and fresh meals for hungry children, they feel fulfilled.
Every S$130 provides one school meal for 80 children or 80 packed meals for a local community. When you donate, you join the fight to end hunger. When you feed hungry children, you feed their future. You can create a world where no child goes to bed hungry.
